What to Expect
Here’s what you can expect on a typical Sunday morning at CCBC.
When are services?
Our Sunday morning Worship Service begins at 10:00 am. We also have an Adult Bible Hour class from 9 to 10 am.
How long is the service?
Our Worship Service generally runs between one hour and fifteen minutes and one hour and a half.
What should I wear?
A variety of styles of dress are represented in our gathering. Most wear a version of business casual though some dress up a little (maybe a dress or a tie) and some dress down a little (maybe jeans and a t-shirt). God did not create us all the same, so we don’t all dress the same.
What are the services like?
Our services can vary but every service includes a sermon with scripture readings, congregational singing, and prayers that are usually focused on the topic of the sermon. Our Pastor generally preaches through books of the Bible verse by verse, though sometimes he will preach on a particular topic or theme. The goal of our congregational singing is to enable the congregation to participate in offering worship to God. We generally celebrate the Lord’s Supper (communion) the first Sunday of each month. Occasionally we open up the service to the congregation to share what the Holy Spirit has been doing in their lives.
Are children welcome in the service?
Everyone is welcome to be in our services. To help parents and younger ones we offer childcare for ages 3 and younger throughout the whole service. Children in our Sunbeam Church and Jr. Church programs start the service with their parents in the main service but are dismissed to their respective classrooms during the sermon so they can learn a Bible lesson at their age level. For more information check out our Children’s Ministries page.
What should I bring?
You do not need to bring anything with you. We reference the Bible regularly, so if you have one feel free to bring it. If you don’t have one, we have Bibles available for use in our pews.
Will I be asked to give money?
We believe that giving to support the work of ministry is an act of personal faith and trust in God’s promise to provide. Anyone who would like to contribute to the financial needs of this ministry may place their gift in the offering boxes in the sanctuary or give online through our website. We do not pass offering plates or make requests of our visitors to contribute.
Is there anything special I need to know about the layout of the building?
Our main entrance is at the front of the building. To go up to the sanctuary you will need to go up a short flight of steps. There is a lift on the outside of the building that will take you to that level if using the stairs is not convenient for you. The restrooms and the children’s ministry rooms are down a short flight of stairs from the main foyer. For those for whom using the stairs is inconvenient, there is a small restroom in the back of the sanctuary. Note — it is too small to accommodate a wheelchair, although support bars are present.
